Facts and Myths About Bees

Event Details:
Join Friends of Willow Fork Park - WFDD for a one-hour program, “Facts and Myths About Bees,” presented by beekeeper Darrel McCall on Saturday, November 7, from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Willow Fork Park pavilion.
Everybody who has flowers in their yard or in a pot on a balcony has probably seen a bee. Did you know it is estimated that there are more than 800 species of bees in Texas? Bees are a diverse group of flying insects with many common misunderstandings surrounding their behavior, anatomy, and lifestyle.
Unlike the introduced European honey bee, almost all native Texas bees are solitary (not living in large hives) and nest in the ground or in wood cavities.
Darrel McCall is a beekeeper and will share his experience and passion for bees and honey. This is a public event, open to anyone on or off Facebook.
