Step back in time at the 40th Annual Folk Life Festival at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center. This hands-on showcase of Texas heritage features live demonstrations and traditional skills from the past. Presentations and demonstrations include Texas Pioneer Soldier re-enactments, blacksmith demonstrations, honey bee keeping, chuck wagon, dulcimer players, quilting and spinning/weaving, farm animals, one-room schoolhouse, archery, Native American culture, Texas cowboy camp, tin punching, pioneer games, corn shelling/grinding, rag doll making, and arts and crafts. Visitors can also explore nature trails, visit the pond, and see exhibits in the science and history classrooms. Concessions provided by Chick-fil-A Katy Mills.
