Two Dead Following SWAT Standoff at Katy Apartment ComplexTwo people were found dead following a standoff involving the Harris County Sheriff's Office SWAT team at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Katy Gap Road near Kingsland in Katy.According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded after receiving reports that an adult man had allegedly shot his girlfriend and then barricaded himself inside the apartment while armed.As deputies and SWAT personnel worked to resolve the situation, the male suspect sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.Deputies also located a deceased adult female inside the residence.Authorities stated that no deputies discharged their weapons during the incident. The circumstances surrounding both deaths remain under investigation.Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
