Stephanie Calvillo, a health-insurance agent, will be at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library to offer a free educational seminar designed to help individuals approaching age 65, new to Medicare, current Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and family members better understand Medicare and the choices available to them. Topics covered include understanding Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D; Medicare Advantage vs. Medicare Supplement (Medigap); Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D); enrollment periods and avoiding late enrollment penalties; financial-assistance programs that may help lower Medicare costs; common Medicare mistakes to avoid; and a question-and-answer session. This program is geared toward older adults and their family members. It is free and open to the public. No registration required.
