The City of Katy is hosting its first-ever electronics recycling drive in partnership with the Houston Zoo to help save wildlife, including gorillas. Bring retired small electronic devices to the 3B Learning Center, 5402 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77493, by November 15, 2026. A small celebration will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM that evening to mark the drive's success.

From production to disposal, electronics can pollute local waterways and soil and contribute to habitat loss around the world. Recycling retired devices helps keep harmful materials out of the local environment and gives valuable resources a second life.

Accepted items: cell phones, iPads/tablets, iPods/MP3 players, smartwatches, handheld gaming devices, AirPods/wireless earbuds, digital cameras, and portable chargers.

Items not accepted: laptops, alkaline batteries, or appliance-like devices requiring a power cord, such as printers and wired speakers.
