Who's going to watch fireworks Saturday night? I know they will have them at Typhoon Texas but I'm not sure where else. I'd like to go watch it but fighting traffic with literally thousands of other people to get home afterwards? No thank you. LOL!

I would like to go to the fireworks downtown, well really for the bands. I like Los Lonely Boys and Collective Soul (I don't know any Keith Urban music). But, I have PTSD about going downtown for fireworks since the time I sat on a fire ant pile!!
Oh what a night it was - and I was on a date. LOL!

Typhoon Texas has the best. Our office is one block from the park so we can take full advantage of sitting in our parking lot. Going home last year was no problem at all. We just waited a little until traffic started flowing. And remember that This Fourth of July falls on a Saturday so you don't have to wake up early the next day to go to work. YAY!!!!

@Fiona :
You are so lucky. I remember when I was a kid in Florida. My Dad worked downtown in a highrise office building. Every 4th of July and New Years he brought us to the office, along with a lot of other office employees' families. We sat at the windows and watched the most amazing fireworks display right in front of us. Good memories.

I just saw a story today in the Covering Katy News. Here's the link. The former Fox26 meteorologist does a free fireworks event. It's near the Westgreen/Highland Knolls intersection on Norwalk Dr. I'm going to suggest this to my husband. I'd like to check it out.

@kvzsmith :
I'm with you, I can't deal with the traffic. I am hoping something will be televised or just go outside and watch the neighbor kids. Just driving in this morning was bad enough. 10 is shut down at Hwy 6 due to a terrible accident.

@Tiki60 :
I know. I was stuck in it too. I was supposed to exit at Hwy 6 but I got off at Park Row. I wished I'd gotten off before that and taken some back roads. The feeder to the Park Row intersection took so long. Although still better than the freeway. It had stopped moving. I feel so bad for the two souls who lost their lives.
