Many people don't know about this really useful service of the post office. If you live in a neighborhood built in about the last 35 or 40 or so years, you probably have neighborhood Cluster Boxes rather than your own personal mailbox (Ah, the good old days, eh?)USPS Informed Delivery will email you a list of the upcoming delivery--with pictures of each mail piece. We find this helpful when we're expecting something important and also in deciding whether what's in the mailbox is worth the walk to retrieve. (I'm happy that advertising mail helps pay for mail service, but I'm willing to wait a day or two when advertising is all that's in the day's delivery.) Example: Our new Voter Registration cards were in our mail on Feb 12, according to Informed Delivery. They weren't, though, and as of yesterday, they still haven't shown up. There is a place on the Informed Delivery "dashboard" to report missing mail.
