Thanksgiving. Do you always make it at home or do you go out? We used to do it at home. It's just the 3 of us and in the past my son has had to work on Thanksgiving Day so we started going out. We go to Bombay Palace on Mason Road every Thanksgiving now. It's kind of our new tradition. We love that place and Ali, the owner is very nice.
Christmas is when we do the whole turkey or ham thing.

Haha! This gave me a flashback of a past Thanksgiving.
When my In-Laws were alive we all used to go camping. One year we all decided to go for Thanksgiving. I had made a lasagna ahead of time and we have ground beef for burgers for the next day. We kept all the cold stuff in the ice chest because we couldn't fit the pan of lasagna in the tiny RV fridge. We made sure the latch was down and had it pushed under the RV stairs before we went to bed. When we woke we found red (tomato sauce) tiny handprints all over the ice chest. And it was now unlatched. We opened and found that a raccoon (maybe more than one) had opened it up (they are too smart for any stupid latches - haha) and "sampled" every single thing in there, except for the bottled water and cans of soda. I mean everything. We'd had a loaf of bread in a plastic tote outside and they got it open too. We found the bag on the ground ripped open, half the bread gone.
We woke up Thanksgiving morning with nothing but some eggs and lunchmeat that we had inside the fridge. Luckily Walmart was open. My husband and FIL drove to the closest town and got more food. Of course a turkey was out. They were all gone. But they got a large Chicken Breast and we cooked that up. It was delicious.
But we learned a valuable. Unless you can put a lock on it, keep it in the RV or in your vehicle. LOL

had a similar experience with coons, took the RV and while setting up inside left the ice chest outside. within maybe 20 minutes they had gotten in and took all the meats. They sat a short distance away watching me too!

This is a great Thanksgiving memory I wonder if that racoon shared this meal with his buddies! This really shows that it is not always about the abundance and overload of food that we celebrate. It is about being together no matter what our circumstances and what we have on our table. It is about being thankful and sharing with others and making memories. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with friends, family, critters and abundant blessings!!!
