My street is now a river

We are currently under an Areal Flood Advisory. I hope the storm drains are not clogged on your street.

My husband just called me. He's stuck on the feeder road for I-10 back around Barker Cypress. He's got a big truck but the line is all backed up.

Back when Hurricane Ike hit, our backyard flooded so bad and knocked down our back fence. Luckily we had just gotten waders. Damn good thing too. When we walked out to inspect the fence, we could smell the sewage. The drain was in the backyard behind us and now with the fence down we could see it. The water was about 6 inches higher then the drain lid. Nasty stuff was floating out into our backyard. It was so gross.

it was a mess, people in my neighborhood driving up on the sidewalks in people's yards...no concerns. Within 15 minutes the water receded and all was good, except for the neighbors yard of course.

Really? I'd never drive up on someone's lawn. I'd back up and find a different way. How rude.

@AJ: me too! Someone from the city came and cleared it. The street was cleared in minutes

I hope that someone, or a Ring Camera, got the License Plate numbers of the cars driving up onto the lawns. So much damage to the lawns, and sprinkler systems. What is wrong with anyone thinking that they should drive over someone's lawn?? They could have found another way home, or just parked their cars on the street, or asked if they could temporarily park in someones driveway, and then walked home. Totally unacceptable.

I did video and take pictures, but what do I do with it? the yard destroyed is an empty home for sale, I didn't know the owners.
