False Report Leads to Vehicle Burglary Charges in KatyDeputies with Constable Terry Allbritton’s Office responded overnight to the 19400 block of Cypress Flower Drive after receiving a report of criminal mischief involving a damaged vehicle and an alleged assault.During the investigation, deputies interviewed everyone involved and reviewed video evidence related to the incident. Investigators soon discovered the initial claims made to law enforcement were false.As the investigation progressed, deputies learned the individual who called to report the incident had actually burglarized a vehicle belonging to the other parties involved, who were ultimately identified as the victims.Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges of False Report to a Peace Officer and Burglary of a Motor Vehicle were filed against the suspect.
