New Convention Center Plans Unveiled for Rosenberg

During the Sept. 23 Workshop Meeting, Fort Bend County leaders outlined plans for the Fort Bend County EpiCenter Hotel and Convention Center Project, to be located at 28508 Southwest Fwy, Rosenberg, TX 77471
Highlights of the proposal include: a 254-room hotel with full amenities, a 70,000 sq. ft. convention center directly connected to the hotel, and two parking structures providing more than 2,600 spaces combined.
The initiative will be financed through a partnership:
Fort Bend County will cover roughly $160 million for the convention center and garages and a private developer will invest about $75 million to construct and operate the hotel.
To support the project, the County has asked Rosenberg to dedicate the City’s 7% hotel occupancy tax generated by this hotel back to the County for 30 years. This would be Rosenberg’s only financial role. Revenue from any additional hotels developed in the future would remain fully with the City.
The project aims to strengthen the Fort Bend EpiCenter, bring new tourism and convention opportunities, and help position Rosenberg as a hub for regional events and entertainment.
City Council members signaled support for advancing the project, with a formal vote planned for an upcoming meeting.
