Katy Deputies Capture Mailbox Theft SuspectsPRECINCT 5 IN ACTION: Mailbox Theft Suspects ApprehendedConstable Terry Allbritton's night shift Katy deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 18100 block of Brookes Bend, where residents reported stolen mail. Two open community mailboxes were found empty. Deputies later located a matching truck at a nearby gas station. With video footage and witness statements, two male suspects were detained. Shaved mail keys were found discarded in the gas station's restroom.Both males were arrested on warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, and Possessing Identifying Information. The U.S. Postal Inspector was notified and additional charges are pending.
