PRECINCT FIVE IN ACTION - Couple Arrested for Outstanding Warrants
Precinct 5 Katy deputies were dispatched to a call of some suspicious people in a neighborhood park that appeared to be camping in the park. Deputies arrived and made contact with 2 individuals who admitted to being in the park overnight. Deputies began identifying the individuals to criminally trespass the pair. The male was shown to be wanted in Harris County for failure to appear for an assault charge. While identifying the 18yo female, she consented to a search of purse which yielded a Texas Driver’s License belonging to someone else. The driver’s license owner was contacted, and she did not realize her TXDL was missing but mentioned a bank contacted her advising her someone attempted to open an account in her name. The Harris County District Attorney was contacted and presented the facts of the case. The ADA accepted chargers on the female for Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information and the warrant for the male was confirmed. The pair were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Harris County Jail where they were released to jail staff.
