Congratulations to the Tompkins Speech and Debate team!

Join Katy ISD in congratulating the Tompkins Speech and Debate team (Meghana Kunapareddy, Janaki Sankar, Steven Yang, Sanjay Senthivelan and Tasheen Islam) for being recognized as a "School of Honor" at the 2023 National Speech & Debate Tournament! Tompkins placed Top 20-40 out of 2000 schools nationwide in total points.

Individually, Meghana also placed 4th in US Extemporaneous Speaking out of the top 300 extemporaneous speakers in the nation. They could not be more proud, congratulations to these students and their coach, Mr. Rios!
