Intoxicated Driver Found Asleep Near Crash Scene in Katy

PRECINCT 5 IN ACTION: Drunk Driver Found Sleeping Nearby After Plowing Into Mailbox

Constable Terry Allbritton's deputies were dispatched to the 20700 block of Park Pine Drive in Katy in reference to a vehicle that crashed into a mailbox. The 29-year-old driver had fled the scene but was later located approximately 800 feet away, asleep and intoxicated in a front yard. He was found in possession of the keys to the crashed vehicle. DWI charges were accepted, and charges for Failure to Stop and Give Information (FSGI) are pending.

It is fortunate that nobody was hurt. I hope those DWI charges will keep him in jail for a while so he doesn't do this again. There are too many repeat offenses especially with drunk driving.

We saw this on the local news. Glad no one was injured by the drunk driver, and that this person is now in jail. Agree with @Fiona - there are way too many repeat offenders!
