Tropical Storm Bertha Rain Bands expected to arrive in our area this evening. Possible severe thunderstorms are also expected due to the high heat today. Wind gusts could be up to 60 mph. Secure loose or lightweight items in your yard. Stay safe and weather aware.

Forecast keeps changing, as usual. Next weather update will be at 10 am. Tropical Storm Bertha is expected to make landfall at or near Galveston today, unless the path changes. Right now, stormy weather is predicted to be just south of I-10.

I heard on the radio this morning that (they say) Bertha will skirt the coastline and if you live inland, you might not even notice her. We shall see.

@sugu : @Fiona :
Looks like Bertha will go through Houston at 7 pm tonight and head our way. 40 mph to 45 mph winds, and some rain. Another Tropical Storm Bertha update will be at 2 pm today.

We got a good welcome rainfall yesterday evening. Good thing is we were all home safe and sound and not driving in it.

@Fiona :
Glad that Tropical Storm Bertha made landfall sooner than expected and we only had winds in the 20 to 25 mph range here. Also, glad that we didn't have thunderstorms stall over us and drop 2 to 4 inches of rain per hour like it did in some places near us. Nice amount of rain with some thunderstorms here.
