United Against Crime
Constable Ted Heap joined Crime Stoppers of Houston, top local law enforcement agencies and other important civic leaders yesterday in discussing Harris County's ongoing crime wave and what can be done to protect homes and businesses.
Precinct 5 will be providing statistics to Crime Stoppers' Glenda Gordy Research Center for the new Houston Crime Index, which will track hotspots for crime as well as how many violent criminals are being released on bond shortly after they are arrested.
"This is a team effort," said Constable Heap, "and it will take a concerted effort from law enforcement, our judges and our government officials to protect our families, our neighbors and anyone who calls Harris County home. People shouldn't have to be afraid to walk down the street or go to the store because a criminal with a violent history might be waiting for them, looking for another victim." #constabletedheap #yourconstable
