Constable Seizes $328K Suspected Drug Money in Katy

PRECINCT 5 IN ACTION: Cash And Consequences; $300K In Suspected Drug Money Discovered In Katy
Deputies with Constable Terry Allbritton's Office recently seized more than $300,000 in suspected drug money in Katy. On the morning of May 3, after patrol units pulled a driver over in the 25100 block of Market Place Dr. near Katy Fort Bend Rd., deputies were given consent to search the vehicle. K9 Ivar, a dual-purpose K9 trained to identify the scent of narcotics on large sums of money, alerted on two suitcases which were found to be full of cash, totaling $328,300. The money was seized and will be held pending a court hearing.
