They definitely have upped their game lately. I've been getting so many scammers on email as well as text. Luckily I'm paranoid and I don't click on anything! LOL!

Also the phishing emails!! I get emails where it says from "Amazon Support" but when I look at the actual email address, it's some random scammy email

This is a great heads up for everyone. Thank you. Sometimes I'll get emails from co-workers with an unusual subject line topic and before answering, I check with them before opening an email.

And don't forget package thieves. They even follow UPS, Fedex, and Amazon trucks. I've started having Amazon orders delivered on the suggested "Amazon day", even if it means waiting a week for an order. I make it a point to be home then on "nnnnnday". Until recently, if you used your Amazon Prime VISA (from Chase), the regular 5% cash back went to 6% if you used the Amazon day (maybe after the holidays it will be back.)

As an I.T. consultant, I can't count the number of times someone who I know is intelligent and cautious, has called me AFTER they clicked a link or called the phone number alleged to be from Microsoft, Visa, or Amazon "support" or the IRS, and sometimes AFTER they gave their logon info or credit card number to one of these criminals!
One really smart guy who was a client of mine actually fell for a fake "failure to appear for jury duty" and agreed to buy a prepaid debit card and meet the "deputy" at Walmart the next morning to pay a fine via the debit card and avoid arrest. Only an astute and suspicious Walmart manager happened to see that someone bought a thousand-dollar prepaid debit card and offered to walk out with the guy to meet the "deputy" (who sped off when he saw his would-be victim had a witness.) My client only related the events after it was all over. Again, this was a guy who had started and grew a successful industrial business. Scammers can be convincing.
