New Traffic Signal Installed on Kingsland Blvd. in Katy

Please be advised The City of Katy has installed a new traffic signal on Kingsland Blvd. at Katy Fort Bend County Road. The signal will operate as a flashing red light beginning Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
 
During this time, the City of Katy asks that drivers pay extra attention to the area traffic control devices.

Just passed by there today. That intersection gets pretty crowded (so has everywhere else in Katy).

I agree with the confusion in the intersections with flashing lights. Some cars seem to not even stop but there are also those that feel they have to speed up to beat the car across the street to the stop so they can go first. Hope this doesn't cause an accident. Complete stop lights are best.

The Stop signs worked great. Flashing stop lights will cause more confusion for many drivers. I realize they may need a Stop light once the Boardwalk is finished and operational; but that intersection is going to be much more congested. We will find another route, just to avoid the area.
