Double DutyWelcome aboard to two new deputies who joined their Precinct 5 family today. Deputies David Baskin and Colby McDaniel were sworn in by Constable Ted Heap in a small ceremony before friends and family at their Precinct 5 headquarters this morning. Deputy Baskin had his badge pinned on for the first time by close family friend Captain John Kovar. Deputy McDaniel had his badge pinned on by his father, Pct. 5 Lt. Jason McDaniel. Each of these deputies will begin working with a veteran field training officer as they learn the ropes here at Precinct 5.
