Constable Ted Heap has opened registration for their next Citizens Police Academy, one of the most popular programs offered by the department.
This 11-week course provides our "cadets" with a behind-the-scenes look at Precinct 5, going through much of the same training that our deputies receive while also being able to discuss in depth what is taught. Questions and conversations are encouraged as they move through the course, from use-of-force to arrests, firearms training and driving in a real patrol car on an emergency vehicle operations course.
The upcoming class will be held once a week, mostly on Thursday nights, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting on March 23rd. Most of the classes will be held at their Precinct 5 Command Station, 17423 Katy Freeway near Barker Cypress.
The Harris Country Constable's office is offering registration for its Citizens Police Academy, an 11-week course that gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at Precinct 5. The course includes training similar to that given to officers and offers the chance to ask questions and take part in discussions on a range of topics.
