Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested by Deputies from Constable Ted Heap's Office

Deputies from Constable Ted Heap's Office arrested a man who stole a car and then crashed the stolen car into another vehicle on New Year's Eve.
Deputies were pursuing the stolen SUV on the West Sam Houston Parkway in the pre-dawn hours of December 31. The driver refused to pull over and tried to evade arrest, exiting the toll road and crashing into another vehicle at Briar Forest Dr.
The suspect fled the stolen SUV on foot, crossing all lanes of the toll road in an effort to avoid arrest. He was located hiding in a tree on the northbound feeder road.
Jose Alfredo Alvarez, 36, was arrested on felony hit-and-run charges as well as driving a stolen vehicle and evading arrest. In October, Alvarez pleaded guilty to driving another stolen vehicle in an unrelated case.
The driver and a passenger of the other truck, a 37-year-old man and his 16-year-old son, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. #constabletedheap #yourconstable
