Effective June 1, 2021
The Summer 2021 work and school guidelines are in effect June 1 through July 30.
For detailed COVID-19 protocols, please refer to the Katy ISD Summer 2021 COVID-19 Mitigation Plan located on the district Website.
The guidelines may be updated as Katy ISD is provided information by the State, local health authorities, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and/or CDC guidance. Items marked as “*NEW-UPDATED*” indicates information that has been updated. Questions regarding the summer staff guidelines may be directed to a supervisor,

District Facility Guidelines:
*Summer Hours: Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
*Employees required to badge in upon arrival to work. If badge does not work, please call 281-396-2000:
*District operations return to normal including routing of phone calls, vendor deliveries and mail.
*Online (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) & in-person meetings may be held as needed.
*Supervisors review “*NEW-UPDATED*” information and adjust procedures within your campus or department to ensure continued compliance:
*Energy Savings Week is July 5-9, 2021.
Employee & Student Guidelines:
*Employees and students must conduct a medical self-screen before reporting to work. Medical self-screen includes questions such as new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0* Fahrenheit or known close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19:
*Employees and students must stay at home when they feel sick. If employee becomes ill while at a Katy ISD facility, leave the building, seek any required medical attention, and contact supervisor, school nurse and /or submit a COVID-19 self-report.
*Employees and students must adhere to local health authority and CDC guidance regarding frequent hand washing and social distancing
*Wearing of facial coverings is optional while in all Katy ISD facilities.
*Employees and students expected to demonstrate respect, care, and compassion for others in following the guidelines including being respectful of those choosing to wear a facial covering and practicing social distancing when possible.
