Katy Fire Department remind residents to build a disaster supplies kit

Loading Image...

After an emergency, you may need to survive on your own for several days. Being prepared means having your own food, water and other supplies to last for several days. A disaster supplies kit is a collection of basic items your household may need in the event of an emergency.

Make sure your emergency kit is stocked with the items that you need. Most of the items are inexpensive and easy to find and any one of them could save your life.

Headed to the store? Download a printable version: bit.ly/2FlwKSz to take with you. Once you take a look at the basic items consider what unique needs your family might have, such as supplies for pets or seniors.

Great reminders!! With all the the hurricanes , storms and covid I hope folks have been a little prepared. oNe thing that we always keep in the car is a large towel over the back seat. Great for when the kids eat in the car on the go or for spills. Makes a great blanket too when the air conditioner is to cold.

We always keep damp cloths in baggies for hand use, etc., when traveling. Plus a few towels.

A small spray bottle with water is also good to keep in the pocket behind the front seats.
