The City of Katy proclaimed “John G. Morrison Day” on August 8
The City of Katy flag flew at half-staff on Saturday, August 8 and the doors of City Hall were adorned with black wreaths in memory of Former Mayor John Morrison. The City of Katy deepest sympathies were with his family and friends as they mourn their loss and celebrate his life.
Mayor Morrison dedicated his life to serving others and the Katy community. To honor his legacy, Mayor Bill Hastings proclaimed on August 8, 2020, as “John G. Morrison Day” in the City of Katy, Texas. This proclamation serves as a tribute to a wonderful man who deeply loved Katy and who was, in every way, worthy of their respect and regard.
He will be greatly missed, and may he rest in peace.
May 10, 1925 – August 5, 2020.
