Katy ISD announces it will begin the school year on Aug. 19 with three weeks of virtual learning.
In light of the guidance from local leaders and health officials, Katy ISD will delay in-person instruction and begin the school year online on August 19, in-person instruction will resume on September 8 (Katy Virtual Academy will continue).
Families who want their students to participate in Katy Virtual Academy for the first grading cycle (beyond September 8) will still need to submit the Katy Virtual Academy Commitment form in PowerSchool. No action is required of families who wish to transition to in-person instruction on September 8.
Just a helpful thought out hint that if you start your kids on Virtual Learning in August, have them wear a mask and use hand sanitizer when possible at home. They will get into the habit when and if you send them to school in September.
