Precinct 5 deputies arrested Matthew Ryan Post, 23, for evading arrest after he tried to flee on his sports motorcycle from a traffic stop in Katy on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports from PCT 5, shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, a deputy with Constable Ted Heap's Office was responding to a complaint from another driver. The caller stated he saw three motorcycle riders weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds, popping wheelies, and causing danger to other law-abiding motorists near Fry Road and FM 529.
The deputy pursued the motorcycles to Stockton Falls Drive, where two of the drivers pulled over. A third, later identified as Post, sped off on his Honda CBR through a residential neighborhoods, reaching speeds of 60 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended shortly thereafter when Post turned into a cul-de-sac, leaving him nowhere to go.
Post was arrested without further incident and now faces felony charges of evading arrest.
