Law Enforcement Teams Up To Prevent DWI
As Ted Heap, Harris County Constable Precinct 5 gets ready for the extended holiday weekend, Constable Ted Heap's deputies will be teaming up with their partners at the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Precinct 1 Constable's Office, Precinct 4 Constable's Office to increase DWI patrols to identify and stop anyone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
They want you to have a great time but they will be doing everything they can to reduce the number of alcohol-related traffic crashes so that everyone can have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
Driving under the influence of alcohol not only risks death or serious injuries, but it can also be costly. Drivers can face up to $17,000 in fines and fees, jail time and loss of their driver’s license.
Instead of getting behind the wheel, here are some alternative options:
*Designate a sober driver.
*Contact a cab or ride-share service.
*Spend the night.
