No fireworks within the City of Katy limits
As you prepare for your 4th of July festivities, please remember fireworks are NOT allowed in city limits. This is a ticketable offence if not obeyed with a fine up to $200.00 and can result in seizure and destruction of such fireworks.
This does not include areas under limited purpose annexation (Willow Creek Farms) or the Greater Katy Area (Pin Oak Village, Firethorne, Cinco Ranch, Lakecrest and Williamsburg, etc. - remember to check County and HOA regulations). Not sure if your subdivision is in the city limits? Check here
www.cityofkaty.com/a m-i-a-resident or email
[email protected] during regular business hours to verify.
To set off fireworks you MUST be out of town, off public roads (including unpaved county roads and right-of-ways), and MUST have permission from property owner whom property you are on to ignite fireworks.
Be safe, don't let children play with fireworks or sparklers - be aware sparklers are burning metal that can burn up to 1,200 degrees!! Yes, you read that correctly… up to 1,200 degrees! Fireworks are not to be taken lightly. Remember that hot, dry weather creates fire conditions that are dangerous and have the potential to spread quickly. Be mindful of your surroundings and be responsible.
To report a violation, call Non-Emergency Dispatch at 281-391-4848. For a fire or medical emergency call 911. Let's have a safe 4th of July!!!
