Precinct 5's Best Patrol Car Yet
Constable Ted Heap and his deputies picked up the newest addition to their department's fleet of patrol cars this week, the new C5-P40 Warhawk Patrol Car.
This souped-up street racer was seized in 2020 and has been redecorated in the spirit of a World War II Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter plane. It will be used for community outreach by their deputies, including plans for car shows, high school programs and other local events.
"Even this car that was once used for illegal and dangerous street racing can be transformed into something that benefits our community," said Constable Heap, "The C5-Warhawk will be a unique addition to their department which they expect will spark a new level of engagement with those who live in their precinct."
The car was transformed without the use of any taxpayer money. Several local businesses including Onsitedecals, LLC, Mac Haik Chevrolet and Affordable Muffler LLC are among those who have donated their skills and supplies to help make the car look like the iconic fighter plane. While work on the exterior is complete, the finishing touches are still being completed on the patrol car's interior.
Precinct 5 thanks all of their partners in this community effort. Keep an eye out for the C5-Warhawk on a street or flight deck near you! #worldwartwo #warhawk #fighterplane #constabletedheap #yourconstable
