On September 20, 2022, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 10800 block of Katy Freeway. The driver was identified as Edgard Callejas who displayed multiple signs of intoxication.

Standardized field sobriety tests were administered and it was determined that he was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed he had a previous DWI conviction on his record.

"Edgard Callejas was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated - 2nd Offense. His bond was set at $2,500.00 out of County Court 3." - Constable Mark Herman

$2,500.00 bond? At least he didn't kill anyone (yet).

After the second strike, an offender's license should be suspended until he/she gets treatment.

@webaroo : Agree. Second offense should suspend licence. Drunk drivers cause too many accidents & cause too many deaths.

Glad he didn't cause an accident or get anyone seriously hurt or killed. He needs to stay in jail to teach him a lesson and not be let our on bond. He will just do it again and next time could really be involved in something serious.

@AJ : Suspended license...would just mean that the next time--which there very likely will be--there will be two charges--DUI and driving with suspended license.

@BowsKaty : Yes it would, but maybe, then, he would be kept in jail w/out bond. Seriously doubt it since they keep letting those with DUIs out on bond.
