Serial Car Burglar Busted
A man suspected in a series of car burglaries in Southwest Harris County has been arrested and is now in jail. Tony Jay Sauls, 32, who was out on bond on multiple other felony charges at the time of this arrest, now faces additional charges of credit card abuse and burglary of a motor vehicle.
Investigators with Constable Ted Heap's Office identified Sauls as the suspect in two car burglaries that happened in Harris County parks in mid-February. An arrest warrant was obtained and Sauls was taken into custody when he was caught during another car burglary on April 2nd.
Sauls has a lengthy criminal history in Harris County alone, with arrests on 16 charges over the last 15 years. At the time of his most recent arrest, Sauls was out on bond granted by Judge Josh Hill in connection with another car burglary and illegal weapon possession charge from February. #constabletedheap #yourconstable
