Fort Bend County Sheriff’s detectives with the Burglary & Theft Unit began an undercover sting operation targeting suspects burglarizing residential areas north of Hwy. 69/I-59. This operation started in late October and culminated in the arrest of Rafael Antonio Viana Jr., 42, on Nov. 8, 2021.
Sheriff’s detectives, along with Patrol deputies, made the arrest and charged Viana with Burglary of a Habitation. This burglary occurred in the Cinco Ranch subdivision immediately prior to his arrest in the 21700 block of the Katy Freeway. During the investigation, detectives recovered electronic equipment, jewelry, and camera equipment from a residence in West Houston associated with Viana.
Viana is currently in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail charged with Burglary of a Habitation and bond has been set at $100,000.
“This investigation remains active and additional charges on this subject are expected,” said Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan.
