Credit Card Crook Arrested
 
A man wanted for breaking into a senior citizen's car, stealing her purse and using her credit cards for fraudulent purchases has been arrested and booked on felony charges. Juakara Merriweather, 43, is charged with felony credit card abuse-elderly.
 
The victim's car was broken into during the middle of the day while parked at a restaurant in the 14500 block of Grisby on October 15. Constable Ted Heap's deputies, after a thorough investigation, were able to identify Merriweather and obtain a warrant for his arrest.
 
Merriweather has a long criminal history in Harris County. At the time of his arrest, Merriweather had warrants for his arrest from multiple agencies, including charges of identity theft and indecency with a child-sexual contact.

@Olzman2 : Thank you for stating what we were all thinking! Harris Count D.A. even turns loose violent criminals, so how can anyone feel safe? Oops. I wonder if this comment will be censured?

I really appreciate the hard and mostly unrewarding work all law officers perform. It must be very frustrating from them to continually arrest people, only to see them back out on the streets in little to no time. I was not trying to degrade what a fine group of officers in the Precinct 5 Constable's office. I publicly thank our law officers for their service every chance I get.
