Serial Car Burglary Suspect Arrested
A man suspected in more than 20 car burglaries has been arrested following a lengthy investigation by Precinct 5 deputies.
Investigators with Constable Ted Heap’s Office believe Jeremy Guerin, 30, has been breaking into vehicles in parks across Southwest Harris County dating back to at least November 2020. Guerin would use credit cards stolen in the burglaries to ring up hundreds of dollars in fraudulent purchases.
The investigation linked Guerin and multiple accomplices to burglaries in at least six parks over the last ten months. Guerin, who was out on bond on multiple other felonies, was arrested when he showed up for a court appearance this week. He is charged with felony credit card abuse. One accomplice, Shakara Lenee Barber, 27, was arrested on similar charges earlier this year.
Constable Heap reminds you to not leave any valuables, backpacks or shopping bags in sight when parking your car or truck, even in broad daylight. Lock your doors when leaving your car unattended, even for just a few minutes.
