Once you connect your account to Amazon Smile, it's done automatically for any products that are eligible. It doesn't cost you any more. In fact, it probably doesn't change the total amount Amazon donates to charity. It just helps Amazon to direct its charitable contributions to charities its customers choose. I've been a Smile customer for a couple years now. It's painless, and you can see from time to time how much your charity has received from Amazon.
