Hazardous Weather Outlook for today (Friday, April, 23, 2021)
There is a Slight Risk of Severe Weather today for Katy. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop late this morning and then strengthen and spread north through this afternoon and evening. The primary threats will be strong damaging winds and large hail, but isolated tornadoes will also be possible.
Rainfall averages for areas south of I-10 to the coast should range from 1/4 to 1/2 inch...areas generally along the I-10 corridor from 1/2 to 1 inch...areas north of the Katy around 1 inch with isolated amounts from 2 to 3 inches possible.
