Updates from Katy ISD’s February Regular Board Meeting

1. February Pledge Leader
-Last night’s pledges were lead by 5th grader from King Elementary, Craige Edwards O’Daniels Jr. Craige enjoys playing sports, such as basketball and football, and loves being creative and making his own science projects at home. From his teacher, Lisa Harris:
“Craige is an incredibly inquisitive and kind-hearted person who lifts up our classroom community every day. His love of learning is apparent to anyone who is lucky enough to meet him. I know he will continue to strive for greatness. It is truly an honor to be his teacher!”
2. Swearing in of new officers
-Last night two new Katy ISD police officers took the oath office. Welcome to the family, Timothy Loya and Jose Perez! Thank you for your willingness to serve our community.
3. Board Recognition: SLHS Cheer State Champs
-The Katy ISD Board of Trustees recognizes the Seven Lakes High School Cheer team on wining the UIL State Championship! Congratulations to the Spartans on this incredible honor!
4. Board Recognition: KHS Football State Champs
-The Katy ISD Board of Trustees recognizes the the Katy High School Football team on winning the UIL State Championship! Great work to each of you, Tigers!
5. City of Katy Proclamation for KHS State Champs
-The City of Katy issues a proclamation in celebration of the Katy High School Football team winning the State Championship. Go Tigers!
