Boil Water Notice is still in effect for the City of Katy

The Public Works Department has been working 24/7 to restore the water distribution system and it is steadily returning to full capacity.

This would not have been possible without the public's assistance in conserving water and reporting water leaks. They ask that you continue to save water and monitor your pipes for any potential leaks that could impact the system. To report a leak, please call 281-391-4820.

Good idea to place a cover or towel over the faucet. You may have youngsters at home that are so used to getting water out of the faucet and may not know or remember not to drink it.

Does anyone know if we need to replace the filter on the refrigerators and ice maker? I guess we would need too. Right?

@KatyDotCom : I live in Morton Ranch in Katy and I pay my water bill to Mud 71 which they state on their website that there is no Boiling Water Notice in Effect for Mud 71.

All cities/towns in all Counties in Texas were under a Boil Water Order according to the Governor. Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties were all included. Glad the boil order has been rescinded in many areas.

@AJ : It still depends on the water districts, not just the county. Our rural water system is still under boil until further notice.

I guess that boiling water is better than no water like some folks loser to downtown. It's not too hard to get bottle water either. I just got a case from Dollar General.

@Lillie : so true. Everyone was under a Boil Water order, but each district will notify customers when the water is safe in their area.
