Katy ISD has free meals for all Katy-area children 18 and under (in-person and Grab and Go). Students not attending in-person learning can pick up multiple meals through the Curbside Grab and Go Meal service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at their 5 locations. Their 5 pickup locations are Katy High School, Tompkins High School, Mayde Creek High School, Morton Ranch High School and Cinco Ranch High School. They can't wait to serve you again this week!

I'm glad they are continuing. Some districts are ending theirs. I wondered if funding ran out, but I have no idea. Kids need to eat to learn.

I think there is a church in downtown Houston that still does food distribution on Wednesdays. Maybe all the other news in the past month took precedent over families needing help.

yeah, they used to show the cars lined up receiving a box or two of food. don't see that anymore.

I think the food bank quit doing the large distributions.... They said it was supposed to go on until things were back to normal, but I haven't seen it happening since like September? I wonder if they will start doing it again in the summer when kids are out of school and families are home more?
 
There is a church off Beltway 8 I see on my way home that has a line of cars every so often. Doesn't seem like it is any particular days though.

I believe they went to something like "super centers" for distribution. Less places for them to deliver I guess. People were in a panic they wouldn't be able to get food and I think that caused stress on the system. There are still distributions happening though. Check local food pantries if you need help.
