The City of Katy encourages residents to recycle your live Christmas tree
If you have a live Christmas tree, the City of Katy encourages you to recycle it after the holiday and they are here to help! Their Public Works Department will be picking up and recycling Christmas trees again this year. To accommodate when residents would like to take down their trees, they will have a pick-up collection on Thursday, January 7th.
On this day, make sure you have placed your tree at the curb by 8 AM. Due to the volume of trees, the pick-up may take a few days. The trees must have all decorations, ornaments, tinsel, lights and stands removed to be recycled. Flocked trees and/or artificial trees cannot be recycled. This service is available for homes inside the Katy city limits ONLY.
If you are not able to recycle your trees during their collection day, alternate locations for tree recycling are:
• Living Earth - Katy West, 27733 Katy Freeway, Katy, TX 77494
• New Earth, 6205 FM 2855, Katy, TX 77493
