The City of Katy is asking residents to conserve water

Loading Image...

The City of Katy provides water and wastewater service to its customers and strives to protect public health and the environment while providing superior customer service. The City of Katy's goal is to provide all customers with drinking water that meets the State of Texas “superior” rating at pressures required to meet their daily needs while observing conservation goals.

The City has a Water Conservation - Drought Contingency Plan to help achieve these goals. Drought contingency planning has been developed as a part of this water conservation plan as a means of dealing with conditions which occur from drought and/or water emergencies. The drought contingency and water emergency management stages of the conservation plan has been developed using the guidelines of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the TWDB.

You can view the 4 stages of the Drought Contingency Plan here www.cityofkaty.com/g overnment/water-cons ervation

I have replaced the shower heads for low water consume shower heads, also I put aerators in the restroom faucets to contribute to reduce water consumption.

@KatyDotCom : Thank you for sending this notification. I find that watering by hand many times you get the spots that the sprinkler system does not reach. Great if you have automatic system but also you won't forget to turn of the sprinkler if you don't .

I hope this depression brings some rain our way. It's really dry in some areas. Others get a shower or two.
