The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office You Are Not Alone (YANA) volunteers will be delivering holiday baskets to participating members on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10 a.m. Seniors, in Fort Bend County, with no family this holiday season will be visited and called upon as part of the new YANA program.
YANA is a reassurance program for seniors in Fort Bend County, who wish to keep their independence and live at home. YANA volunteers make daily calls and visit the participant to check on their welfare.
"It's all about neighbors helping neighbors," said Sheriff Troy Nehls. "This is especially important during the holiday season."
If you have a loved one, relative or friend, who would like to enroll in our YANA program, please call (281) 341-YANA (9262).
Donations can be sent to the YANA office at the Sheriff's Office and will be distributed through the FBCSO Citizens Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
This is a wonderful program and blessings to all who help make it possible for our seniors to enjoy company. My younger sister was in a nursing home a few years ago and there is so many who get no visitors or are alone not only at Christmas but all year. Thank you YANA!!!
