Drift, Precinct 5's newest K-9, took part in the biggest drug bust of his young career as he helped with the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of nearly five kilograms of crystal meth and heroin.
Diana Baylon, 21, Jessica Villicana, 23, Avishail Mares, 19, and Daniel Bustamante, 20, were arrested in the 17000 block of the Katy Freeway on February 21 after an undercover investigation by Constable Ted Heap's Narcotics Unit.
Drift, who joined Precinct 5 in December, helped sniff out more than four kilograms of methamphetamine and 400 grams of heroin inside the suspects' vehicle. They were arrested without incident and each charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
