Harris County PCT 5 deputies arrested two Katy men in Cypress over the weekend after they tried to push their stalled pickup truck and trailer away from a location where they'd allegedly stole property.
David Visconti, 32, and Daniel Martinez, 36, both from Katy, ended up in the Harris County jail after being arrested in the 9200 block of Lakeshores Lagoon Lane in Cypress over the weekend.
The victim, who traveled to Cypress to visit his nieces, walked outside and found Visconti inside his truck at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 11. The victim confronted the burglar and then saw his stolen backpack inside the suspect's truck, which was parked nearby with a trailer attached to it.
Visconti and Martinez tried to leave the scene but were unable to start their vehicle. They pushed it and the trailer down the street, and when Precinct 5 deputies arrived, the two men had the hood lifted and were working to jump start the truck with a motorcycle battery.
Deputies found a stolen motorcycle frame and a shotgun in the back of the suspect's pickup truck, and crystal meth inside the truck's cab. The victim recovered his stolen backpack and other personal items missing from his truck.
Visconti, a convicted felon, is charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. Martinez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
