The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force intercepted a large amount of marijuana being driven up 59 North by a man from Katy today.
According to reports from FBCSO, on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, while working highway interdiction, one of the interdiction teams conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck that was traveling on U.S. 59 North in Rosenberg.
During the roadside investigation, the Task Force Officer and his K-9 partner "RIK" located 19 bundles of marijuana concealed in an altered external fuel tank located in the bed portion of the truck.
Gerson Salguero, 23, of Katy, was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on a second degree felony charge of Possession of Marijuana and a third degree felony charge of Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument.

The marijuana weighed approximately 202.5 pounds with a street value of $100,000.00.
"Job well done by our Narcotics Task Force," said Sheriff Troy Nehls.
The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force is part of a Houston HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) initiative.
