Discussion Summary:
The forum discussion revolves around a recent neighborhood block party organized by Harris County Constable Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap's deputies in Wilchester. They had a great time meeting families and letting kids check out the inside of a real patrol vehicle. The event was attended by friends from Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones' Office as well. The relationship between Precinct 5 and the neighborhoods they patrol is excellent, and many of the children their deputies once watched playing in the yards and parks of these neighborhoods are now raising their families on the same streets. The constables are honored to be watching over these families for so many years. The forum members appreciate the efforts of the constables and wish their neighborhoods could have similar events. They stress the importance of community constables' presence not only to protect but also for the community and kids to get to know them and the role they have.
